Is to not be sick.
My annual illness arrived early this year. For the past two years, I have been too sick to travel home for Christmas. This year I’m hoping this affliction will take the place of the one I usually get as an early (unwanted, un-asked-for, unwelcome) Christmas present.
My husband and kids and I have a wonderful Christmas tradition every year. We open presents at our home on Christmas morning, go to the In-Laws for breakfast and more presents, then we get in the car and drive 4-1/2 hours to my family’s home, where dinner and more presents await.
Our day is full. We are blessed.
